HELP... with DRAG SLICKS....for 94 Honda Civic Hatchback
I have a 94 Civic Hatchback with a GSR motor swap. Looking for better times by going to slicks. Run on a 1000ft track with best times on 17in street rims and tires of 12.3 @ 98.7mph.
I need to know what size and type slicks I should go with and where is a good place to purchase them? Also was thinking of using them on the 13" or 14" alloy wheels that come with the civics, or is there a lighter alloy wheel I should go with?
Need help!

Can someone discribe slicks? Like how do you fit 26'' slicks on a civic (i never understood this.) Also slicks have no thread right? How does that work? (I am so clueless when it comes to slicks, HELP!)

yep, theres no thread
the way they work is they reduce friction with the pavement
considerably which can drop ur time .5-2.0 seconds.

actually, theyre "stickier" and increase the force of friction (which provides traction) between the road and the tire. slicks usually need to be warmed up (with practice laps or burnouts) to reach full tractive capabilities. drag slicks also use lower tire pressures to increase contact patch and sidewall play

basically any slicks will work, you dont need 26" slicks, those will be too big for your application. 23 or 24" would be fine you can mount them on any rim you want but the stock steelies are probably your heaviest choice...
what are you 60' times now? ideally with slicks you should be able to pull off 1.7~1.8...

Actually i mostly hang out here and the GDD so theres not much talk about slicks over here, and i dont have money to buy them and i havent had time to go to a track to see them in action.
But i rmeembered there was a thread about slick before (this one) so i thought i would bump it to see what i could learn.

Re: HELP... with DRAG SLICKS....for 94 Honda Civic Hatchback (dunkd)
My best 60ft time is 2.464 and with no LSD yet I tried a 15in drag radial on my front right tire only (because the other tire was unable to come off) and ran a 12.1, best time so far. Am sure if I could get to 11.1 with slicks it would be worth it as no one in my class has run faster yet than a 11.9 so I need to know where I could get these slicks in Florida as that's closer to the Bahamas.
