okay heres the situation....i was driving my 93 eg yesterday night and then all of a sudden it shuts off. the fuel line didnt look that low but i went to the gas station and bought gas anyways. so when i put the gas in the car, the car started but then died again...i tried starting it several times with a few pumps of the gas to try to get the car starting. so after i did that a few times, the car suddenly started but then after 10 minutes of driving the car dies again. i tried starting the car again and it seemed like the idle was low then the car dies again....after a few more times starting it the car starts....i drive it for a couple miles....i heard a wierd noise while driving...my bro who was sitting on the passenger side said that he seen sparks coming out of the muffler...he was like "ooh ****!! sparks are coming out of the muffler!!!!" after a couple minutes more of driving the car stops again....i think we we're torchering the car so badly...but the house was only a couple miles away and we really wanted to take it home and didnt want it to be left stranded on the side of the street....so we try starting the car again and it starts. the car seemed like it was on low rpms so we drove it home on first gear all the way cause once we shifted to second the car starts to shut off....so now the cars on the driveway. i dont know what the hell the problem is i want to get this **** fixed....can anybody help me out....my cousin said it might be the fuel filter but i dont know thats only one persons judgement...so help me out please...i hope this story helps...lol...please help i have no car but this one

sounded like fuel filter untill you had sparks ... not sure what to tell yah there look under the car anything broke looking?

Check your ignition if it keeps bogging down, if it's not the fuel filter...throwing any CELs?

oh alright now i know....nah the CEL isnt on the car just bogs then dies...so if thats the case its the fuel filter then right?

maybe your converter is clogged/breaking up inside??

could be exhaust system, you check spark plugs to see if its running rich? Not necesarily the fuel filter but don't limit it out, do you have a CAI or stock, any mods done? Check the voltage on the injectors? there are a million things, if you aren't throwing a CEL is hard to say

when u try to add gas while starting the car does the car immediately die after you add gas?

had the same problem, hollowed out cat and now it works fine

I hope this guy comes back and says what was wrong, because these threads just become useless wasted space if no solution is ever posted. Charms119, don't be ashamed, tell us what was wrong.

here's something no one said yet. your main relay, the main relay controls the fuel pump. if it's ready to check out, it's not going to allow the fuel pump to work properly, causing your car to stall, not turn on, etc. i would replace that first and go from there.

timing? I had the same exact problem, till I messed around with it, but towards the sparks I dont know
