SHOCKS!

Did the bolt connecting the shock to the lower control arm break, or the top mount bolt?

Do you have access to a bench vise?

if so drop the lca out with the shock, put it in a vise.

Break the welded nut off the shock, and try to pound the rest of the bolt out. If you can do it this way, it will hopefully save the bushing.

If you dont care say **** it and take a grinder to the bolt/bushing and cut it off.

The bolts used for suspension are hardened. It will be hard to drill them out.

I'd take the whole LCA out and grind the nut off. It's only welded in a couple spots. Grind, cool, grind, etc.

I had the same issue but I was swapping in a new LCA so I had to remove mine no matter what. Just be careful not to "hurt" the bushing in the LCA. You can replace it but you need to find someone with a press and burn out the old one. Good luck!

Drilling the bolts out wont be easy.

Thats why i suggested grinding.

Pick a harbor freight grinder, and a junk yard lca and go to town.

EDIT- DO NOT, I MEAN DO NOT HIT THE SHOCK!! the fuild doens't like too much heat, and will catch on fire.

this is common i broke 3 on each side.. i took a hand grinder, and grinded the head off and the nut thats welded on off. i had stock lca so i took a torch and melted the bushing out. then i just replaced with new lca nus tand bolts. bolts were like 10 each. some dealers wanted 15 just call around. you can get highest grade at hardware store but i didnt wanna chance it. thats just me
ill post pics little bit

edit.. i broke 4 all together. 2 on each side

not sure but I would say the dealership is the only way to go..you are gonna have a real hard time finding the proper size in Grade 8.
and some dealers have to order them, so make sure you call ahead, i had to go to two because one had only 3 and the other one had only two. one dealer wanted 15 i told them i just bought these for 10 and they gave it to me for 10$ a bolt. just call more than one to get best price

Same thing happened to me. If it helps the bolt size is 10x80, you could go down to your local hardware store and pick one up. That's what I've done, help up fine for years. It was only a few bucks too.
