Help with brake rotor selection

Help with brake rotor selection
I have a '95 DelSol Si.
Last fall i replaced the front brakes and rotors. I bought the rotors for the Si without ABS.
Now, about 6 months later, the front brakes are making a rythmic thumping when i slow down. I stopped in Tire discounters (was getting tires changed) and they informed me that I have the WRONG rotors on my car, and that the pads are "too long" and that is the problem.
I am NOT a darn mechanic. But I ordered pads and rotors, told them I had a '95 DelSol Si.....
I can post the VIN number if that helps. last part is SS001167
At this point I am getting sooo confused.
Do i have ABS???
Do i even have a Si? or an S? heck, the motor says Vtech...

Re: Help with brake rotor selection
It's the first portion of the VIN that defines what car you have. You listed the numbers in the sequential portion on the VIN....not useful here.

Re: Help with brake rotor selection
so you have the wrong rotors but the pads are too long these are two different things.
i know your not a mechanic but if you want help you have to know what they told you.
also why did you come on here to complain if your just gonna take it to honda anyways?
it is possible though that whoever ordered your parts screwed up. wouldn't be the first time.

#1 I did not just come on here to complain, oh holy one of Del Sol knowledge.
Maybe i came off that way because I have been pretty much beating my head on a wall for a day with people telling me i HAVE an Si, I DON'T have a Si, i have a V-tec (whooo hoooo!!!) ........
i was TOLD that i have the wrong rotors, that the pads are too big and are overhanging the rotors. i am not the mechanic in this picture. I am just relaying info to give a little history of why on earth someone would ask What car they have.
This is not the first battle of "what car is this" I have had when trying to get work/parts for the little beast.
Honda is not close to my house. The hours there, and my work hours are not really compatible for me to just "bop" in there and get the car looked at.
I called Honda, gave them the VIN and verified that my car started life as a '95 Si.
I called the previous owner and HE verified it was an Si.
I even asked the guy who is a honda person (and probably on here for all i know) and HE said i have an Si.
The front rotor is FOR an Si. I verified the parts, have the receipt and the original packaging.
The pads are for the rotor, the pads fit the calipers, yet the pads do not fit the Rotors?? UGH! You think YOU are confused?? I am beginning to think this car is a mish-mash of left over parts from some big Del Sol melting pot.
Car is parked. I need to take a day off work to deal with all of this.
