help on adjust valve with the head off? oh yeah this for a sohc vtec d16z6
im not sure how to adjust the valve with head off the block. i got the head in my room right now that i just bought. all the valve are close but 4 of the valves are sticking down. i tried to adjust it but the screw seems weird, it looks much diff from the other one or is that normal. any help. heres some pic.

do i need to move the gear in a certain degree to adjust it when the head is off the block

You need to adjust the valves with the head on the block. You are going to have to take the cams out to put the head on, then when you put the cams back in you will need to re-adjust the valves. You could get them close by doing it now but since you better check after the install you might as well just do it then.

It would actually be harder trying to keep the cam gears in sync while trying to rotate them to adjust the valves.
Plus with the head on the block you have other determining factors such as timing belt tension.
