Help
My 96 civic hatchback EK4 is acting up.
stock b16a blah blah. Well I get down to business.
I hooked up a Air/fuel gauge by tapping into the 02 wire that connects to the ECU. It was running fine till 3 days ago. I didn't drive my car for 4 days then one day I wanted to take her out and have fun. I try giving it gas and it wont do anything, then when it does something. It bounces off of 3,000 RPM. then when it seems like the problem right awhile, I can drive it around but it was really laggy, then the problem popped up again. I step on the gas pedal all the way and its either bouncing off of 3k, or just staying at 2 and I can hear my motor trying to rev up but it wont. I squeeze the wire from the air/fuel gauge and the 02 wire together and out of no where the check engine light went off and it drove fine. So I was ok I fix the problem. I turn off my car, then turn it back on then it HAPPEN AGAIN.
Can a 02 sensor wire really make a motor acted up that much? I think im going to solder the wires together, cause all I did was use electric tape.
If this ever happen to you and fix it please help me out!

Re: Help (5sixK-EK4)
Yeah...the oxygen sensor is the most important sensor your engine has for determining performance. Solder the wires like you should have in the first place and don't be so lazy next time.

Re: Help (Archidictus)
I would check the CEL, but sometimes it doesnt show up. and I tryed it with a paper clip last night and nothing came up, it didnt blink at all.
And yeah I should of solder it the first time, just didn't have the money at the time to go buy it. So I'm going to go do it today and hopefully it fixes the problem. and thanks for the fast replys

Update.
I just unplug the harness from the ECU. when I did that i felt water splatted all over my face. I never left my window down when it rain. So yeah. I'm assuming thats one of the reason why my motor is acting up. It started up yesterday so the water shouldn't had shorted anything out in the wiring harness would it? cause if it did then I wont be able to turn on my car right? Any help would be great!.
Back to soldering the wires together and waiting for the water to dry out.
