Hey,
Im a new person here, but not to the honda world. I have had a long list of hondas, starting with a swapped crx, and most recently a s/c s2000. Anyhow, I just entered the civic world with a great 4 door lx....

Anyhow I just bought this thing and it was great. Now it recently dropped in temp here in NYC and I turned on the heat.....sounds like a freaking rattle can in the right side vent. I started to take it apart but didnt find anything.

It only makes the noise when I turn on the heat...the best way to describe the sound I guess would be a baseball card in a bike's well mixed with some rattling.

Anyone know whats wrong with this thing? Heater core going bad? maybe something else....

Heres more to the story.
If I turn it on 1 or 2 and let the car warm up then its fine....no problems.

If I dont let the car warm up tho and try it on 3, 4 it sounds like a jet taking off.

Im thinking the heater core is going....

Any thoughts?

make sure ur fan is lubed properly or if anything is getting in it's way

any special lube I should use?

can I just hit it with say WD40 or something to that effect?
