heater core removal and repair help its getting cold!
My heater went over the summer. Really something gave a spilled all my coolant all over the road so I just re-routed my hoses and cut the heater out of the loop but now I need heat since it is getting cold again. Any tips or pointers on how to get to the heater assembly and all that. I have a chilton guide that says just unbolt and remove but it seems a bit more complex than that. Any help is welcome.

Re: (pro1342)
pull the dash out? uh easier than what building a motor? Seriously this seems like more trouble than its worth almost.... how does one pull the dash, would be easier to pull the motor? (which I have done and not fun when its your daily beater)

You have to totally pull the dash and center console. Then you have to take the black box out of the car that the heater core is in. It is a bitch if you have A/C.
Might want to pick up a repair manual...

you must do it from inside the car ... you can pull the motor but it will do you no good as the heater box is inside the car ....
you actually got it easy i am going to do my heater core on my 66 mustang but you cant remove the dash in that car because it is metal and is welded in the car so i will have to do it while it is in the car ... good luck to me ....

Re: (Stripped Honda)
so remove the dash is the only way then? damn I was suggesting that removing the engine might be an easier task then removing the dash. I don't suppose you can just undo bolts and out it comes. I mean there are so many wires and what not snaking through the dash.... damn ok thanks

Professionals make it easy . Take it to a shop: it's a pain in the *** to do yourself. Not hard at all, just time consuming and frustrating.
