Default Header Leak

Hello Everyone,

I have a 96 DX with 150k miles on it. Yesterday while driving home my car sounded really loud and has a blerp noise coming out in the front of the car when I step on it. So I am guessing that there is a header leak until I can open it up.

I was wondering what are my choices at this point.

Should I just get a EX header and new Cat?

Any other suggestion..

I am not sure but i know it is in that area. Hopefuly it is a gasket.
What are some sign to look for to see if it is the header or gasket.

Also does anyone know whether honda would fix this for free. Cause I heard that they did a recall on this, but I might be too late and pass the deadline.

A replacement doughnut gasket should be pretty cheap, I don't think it'd be worth the time to take it in and have them replace it. Also, although I doubt it lol heat cycle, a bolt on the exhaust mani. -> cat may have worked its way loose.

check for anything loose and inspect your cv boots while you're down there.
