Head lights pluse
I changed my radiator and had to do some welding on the support, its getting old and need some love. So I Fill up on fluids and make sure every thing is tight.
I start the car (98 Civic Dx) to bring it up to temp . while it is running I turn the head lights on and they are pulsing hard and the cluster lights. But the radio is not effected.
The car drives normal be sides the new problem of my odd pulsing and the Speedo now working. What I think to be odd is that the motor doesn’t seem to change RPM with the flashing.
Any thoughts?
Thanks Nick

my friends integra headlights
dim when his subs hit
im suprised he hasn't got pulled over
for it yet..but it sounds like you might have unplugged a terminal or
something but yet it could just be a loose ground.

No system.
I feel like that when I was welding I might have smoked the battery or alt. The battery and alternator should act as a capacitor. The alternator might have got some nasty back feed from the high voltage of the welding and messed up the windings and diodes and all that sweet stuff.

If the motor is not affected by this I think your alt and battery are fine...
You say the Porblem is only with your Head lights. Does the Pulse go in Even Intervals or is it all over the place.....
Maybe you Torched a Head Light Relay.

The head lights ,dash ,fan motor, blinkers and you can see and hear the motor reving up and down at all MPH and RPM's. The radio is not effected. When i have the car Running and disconnect the battery is get severely worse and will not Rev up it just bogs like to poorly tuned carb.
I have added 2 more ground wires. 1 off of the alternator bracket and 1 by the distributor side of the block.
Also at the same time my speedometer stop working and my Auto trans started shifting horrible wrong.
any help would be awesome
Thanks Nick

Re: headlights pulse
You possibly have an electrical short in the wire harness running between the firewall and intake manifold. Information at this website might be helpful:
