Head Gasket?
I have a 1992 Honda Civic that I think I blew the head gasket out on. All of a sudden at a stop light it just started smoking like crazy and kind of started sputtering a little bit. I got the car home before it overheated, but I noticed that after checking the fluids that all of the antifreeze was gone but the oil level had risen considerably. What is the chances that antifreeze can get into the oil when you blow a head gasket? Is it normal for this to happen? Or does the car not have good enough rings in it that the antifreeze blew by the cylinder? Thanks for all of your help!!!!

Before the smoking, which I assume is the head gasket, the car always used a little oil. Not much oil maybe a quarter quart every 3000 miles, could this also be associated with a blown head gasket?

Thanks for all of your help!! The only other question I have is, where do I buy a new head gasket? I have researched and on here people said that there are certain brands to stay away from and some that do good? Any suggestions?

Re: (lssandy)
Honda OEM.
call up a dealership and order one, they are MUCH cheaper than you'd think.
Stay away from Ebay gaskets, or anything thats 'cheap'
Felpro's have been known to hold up fairly well also.
