Default Have a question about the hatch lift support

Car is a 95 civic hatch cx. I bought the hatch lift support from a guy off craiglist and it didnt fit on the nuts that was on my trunk window. And he gave me a pair thats fits but one is stripped and the other is bent.
Anyone know whats the part number or name of that nut on the trunk window and where i can buy them?

This is what Im talking about if I didnt explain it clearly.

Hi, I just replaced these on my 94 EG VX Hatch..here are the parts #s I used, and got them from Majestic Honda (though lately I've been getting parts locally in FT L from Rick Case Honda)..

90101-SR3-000 021 NUT,OPENER STAY PIVOT (LOWER)(8MM)

90105-SR3-000 022 SEAL, TAILGATE OPENER STAY & WIPER MOTOR

90106-SR3-000 023 SPACER, TAILGATE OPENER STAY

The exploded diagrams are great, and these are under the "Tailgate" heading.

Hi, glad to help. You will need 2 of each part, but they don't cost much..then again, if you start changing weatherstripping and other trim, it can add up kinda quick

best of luck w/ the Hatch, I love my 94 EG Hatch/B18C ..will do a build thread on her some day..

I got my 94 civic back on the road as of late. It sat for a while and I need the same exact things. One of the hatch supports was already stripped and when I opened the hatch yesterday, the other one popped out.

Is it better to buy the whole hatch support strut new?

Or is it ok to just buy the nuts and fittings for the lower part of the window/hatch?

I checked with the autoparts place today and the kid looked at me like I was crazy when I asked him if they carried that part. Then he told me it would be almost $80 for 2 of the hatch supports.

lol....I found 2 new ones on Ebay for $30, including shipping.

Would I need all three of those for a CX?

The nuts strip very easily. Made of a soft metal - aluminium I think. When installing be sure there is NO WEIGHT on the struts. A helper to support the window when the strut is fully extended is HIGHLY recommended.

Yea I notice that, when I installed the ones I had it was only me. Thats probably why it stripped. Or maybe its been stripped already.
