Default H2B... Is it worth the money?

I'm considering an h2b swap. The main problem I can forsee is the wiring. But all totaled it is going to cost roughly 4k. Are the numbers worth the money, or should i jsut go another route?

The wiring isn't much differen't at all.

Yes it's worth it.

If you do labor yourself you can easily do an H2b for under $4000.

I think I added it up one time and I got ~$3500.

It's the new cool swap. k20's have something to fear.

Depends on which ecu you run, but most run a chipped p28.

You'd run an H-series.

Does anything need to be modified on the harness to work, or is it plug and play in a 95 civic coupe?

Mating an h22 engine to a b-series transmission via a special adapter plate and mounts.

basically you have to extend the alternator wires and run a resistor box depending on what injectors you use

it's an f2d.

F series and H series are externally identical. The IM and some of the internal parts are different. For example the crankshaft i believe is different.

Go for it. It seems well worth the cash.

Post some pics when you're done bro.

Wiring is exactly the same as doing a regular H22 swap. You would want to use your Civic harness and pull plugs from the H22 harness to add to the civic harness. There is a thread on HT that gives you step by step instructions.

Swap costs roughly 3-4K, basically drops in like a B series swap, and for the money cant be touched by any other Honda hybrid swap.

What about the other problems with swapping in the regular H22. The most typical complaint being the engine tilt causes oversteer issues. Is this still a problem with the H2B conversion in an EG, or is this somehow overcome?

6 of one, half-dozen of another.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by travelor101 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">What about the other problems with swapping in the regular H22. No, axle placement is like a regular b-series. So no axle issues like the h22 which had the axles at wonky angles which require beefier axles/differentials.

The handling issues with the h22 is a myth. h2b's weigh roughly 20lbs more than a b-series and sit directly over the axles. It's the same whether your h2b or regular h22 swap.

I've heard these swaps are pretty sick. Their 1/4 mile times are very impressive for little modification. How are you going to be using the car. Daily?Weekend? Here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2006239

(c-speedracing should make a "how-to" on this swap. There getting more and more popular. )
