h22 tiptronic in2 a 97 civic???

Default h22 tiptronic in2 a 97 civic???

okay im new here and this website lookedd really honest and professional so i had to be a part of it.. i have a 97 civic dx and i want to drop an h22 in it,but i want to also put in the stock tiptronic(manu-matic) tranny that comes in the prelude. so i need to know if the tranny will fit in my car???? please post any info. aas soon as possible!! thanx a lot 4 any reply's!!!!

I'm not 100% sure, but I dont' think it will physically fit. Its hard enough to get the manual tranny in there.

well wat would be a good way for me to go??? wat other tranny will fit that swap and my car...my car is a 4dr

Why? Just get a regular 5sp because that tranny is crap and will most likely go out after a few hard driving session.

i think the manual tranny is the only one that fits anyways, and its hard enough to cram that in.

if the manu-matic has the same mounts it should fit. Since the H in a civic puts the tranny under a framerail, there is about 6" all round everywhere except for above the very end.

Best thing to do would be to look at one of these trannies, and see if they are the same physical size.

If you can't find one, which you might not be able to, you've answered the question anyway.

As far as which i'd go with....you didn't even ask that so nevermind.

okay thanks for the suggestions ill look into it but now the question is h22 vtec or h23 non-vtec... i plan to turbo my car sooner than later...???
