Hey guys, I am thinking about going H22 into my EK. I had a few questions that I was hoping my fellow H-T member's could help me out with.

1) How do you guys feel about the HASPORT motor mounts / axles and and their wiring harness for this conversion ?

2) Since I live in California, can I REF a USDM H22 motor ?

3) Can any of you guys that have down this swap with this particular chassis give me some advice or constructive criticism ?

Anyway help would be greatly appreciated ...

I've only heard good things about HA Sport mounts, you can ref it as long as the motor is the same year or newer, when compared to your chasis, and you have all of the proper smog equipment and sensors, in working order.

to be ref ready, you just need all stock smog equipment, including egr, ecu, and airbox (or carb exempt equivalents). also, the motor needs to be the same year, or newer than your car. i was just pondering a usdm h22a in my 93 hatch... my b16 really isnt cutting it. i was leaning towards the HCP mount kit. i like how it uses the stock right frame rail bracket. i've also heard that place racing mounts are crap.

will a ref pass you with a high flow Cat that has the 02 bungs or do you need the stock cat for that motor?

1) Haven't used (or seen for that matter, since it's still new) the Hasport EK H22 mount kit in a car. We used the HCP EK-22 mount kit in my old EK hatchback that I recently sold to another HT member... very solid at the road course with no vibration. No problems with axles either, and that was with a LSD tranny.

2) Yes, it's been done, as already mentioned. Just have all of the Prelude smog equip on the car for that year of car (98 Civic, use 98+ Prelude smog equip)

Yes, only if it'll pass the sniffer test, and only if the tech thinks it's a regular cat when he looks under your car. Otherwise, he's going to tell you that what you have under your car is not a legal/usable catalytic converter.

1) HAsport makes very solid mount kits and they stand behind their product 100%. Ask Dom about them, he'll convince you to get their mounts in no time!

2) In CA, the only major factors in motor swaps is: The year of the motor (Motor must be same year of vehicle or newer), the motor must be from a vehicle in the same class as the receiving car (No SUV/Light truck motors in Passenger cars i.e. B20), All smog and emissions equipment must match that of the motor donor's vehicle (Or their US counterpart). So if you cover all of those bases you're set!

HMotorsonline.com has built a pretty good reputation for themselves. They are also kinda close to my area. I haven't checked them out myself, but a lot of people here on H-T have purchased from them and are pleased with what they received.
