I just replaced my 93 h22 block with a 00 h22 block. I am still using the 93 downpipe that fit perfectly on my old block, but when I try to install it on the new one it hits the 00 oil pan!! I searched and found a couple posts that i could swap out the oil pans and put the 93 on the 00, but i was wondering if there was another way.

Also does anyone know for sure if I can swap pans??

Well, the only other fix I can think of is to buy the 5th gen H22 exhaust manifold, but that will be more expensive.

Do you have access to a lift? If you do, just get under there and and take the pan off. You have to remove the clutch shield plate before you can get to the oil pan, but I think that's it. Not hard.

Obviously, you'll lose all your oil when you take the pan off, but it's good to replace your oil and oil pan gasket anyways.

yea i put this thread up in the prelude forum and they said it def. works but when I did it mine hit the oil pickup thing, but mine was pretty banged up... So right now i am banging on it and prolly pissing off the neighbors! So my other question is then how much clearence do i need between the oil pickup and the bottom of the pan??

not very much...on my car they almost touch...they both get very hot anyways, so I don't think it matters if they do touch...

I am more worried about the pickup not being able to pickup enough oil becuase the opening is resting on the pan.
