H22 distributor and ignition problem!
I have a 96 ek hatch with an h22a4 out of a 97 prelude in it. i had an obd 2 dist. on the car but it ran like **** and always threw a code 9, so i got one from an obd1 f22a and now it wont start.
so i got the new distributor in and the CEL went off but now the car doesnt start, well it doesnt turn over. anyways i think it has to do with the wiring. So the old dist. had a 9 wire plug and the new one has an 8 wire plug. i ended up running the wires directly to the ecu because i couldnt find a fitting connector. anyways heres the set-up......
wires from the new dist.
(orange) (Org/blu) (Blu) (yel/ grn)
(blk) (white/blu) (white) (black/yel)
the orange goes to b11
black to b12
org/blu to b13
white/blu to b14
blue to b15
white to b16
yel/grn ??? (hooked to old yel/grn)
black/yel ??? (hooked to black/yel)
anyways the old dist had an extra outgoing plug on the cap that went to a MSD blaster coil which was hooked to an aftermarket ignition system. so i took off all the extra aftermarket ignition stuff because there is no where to hook it up to. could that be why the car doesnt start or does the new dist. have that built in?
Also, there were 4 wires running to the crank fluctuation sensor which is near the cam gears and i remember that the car wouldnt start without that being hooked up before. it is no longer hooked up because i dont know which wires to run over to it. i didnt think it was necessary to connect but it was a problem before so im not sure what to do with it.
anyways if you can correct my wiring or point me in the right direction that would be great.
