you may have put the distributor in "backwards"......... as in it is pointing to the number 4 spark plug wire instead of the number 1 wire at tdc......

FIrst check to see if you have power to the fuel pump and ecu.. turn your key on and listen to see if you can hear your fuel pump running for about 2 seconds while your check engine light is on.. if that checks out, see if you are getting fuel pressure. (you can loosen the nut on top of your fuel filter bolt, do not remove, fuel should spray from around the bolt.) if that checks out, you should remove your cam cover and check your cam timing to make sure your timing belt is tight and that it did not jump a notch or two on the belt..

Re: (Gadget)
the fuel pump is working. i took off the valve cover today. i noticed that the "up" notches on my stock cam gears are not at the same postion. like when one of them is pointed straight up. the other "up" is almost down. i suppose this means it jumped teeth. anyone know how i can fix this up.

Re: (GSRcivicGSR)
Dont go by the "up" they are just general reference go by the side markings on the cam gears. I know that when mine is timed right the "up" on one cam gear is slightly cocked to one side. Basically the "up" is there so you dont time your car 180 degrees off. line up the two side marks on the cam gears and make sure they are level with the head. If all you did was take out your dis, and put it back in i would make sure that its not 180 off which it sounds like you already did
