gsr high comp. rebuild no vtec after
i recently rebuilt my 94 civic with a 94 gsr motor in it. i did a high compression rebuild and after being broke in i tried vtec and it doesnt work. oil is fine and it is wired the rite way. i have a lite wired to it that shows when vtec engages and the lite comes on but there is no vtec and it redlines at 6000. any help would be much appreciated

theres quite a few threads on vtec.
ur speedo working? faulty vss = no vtec.
you can check your vtec solenoid by unclipping the gray single wire clip from the solenoid, run a wire from the positive of the battery (or any 12v source) and touch it to the solenoid wire which you just unplugged. you'll hear it click if its good. its easy to hear, just touch it on and off n you'll hear the distinct click.
make sure the vtec clips are snapped on, and the wires on lose or anything.

thanks for the help it was some bad wireing. gotta love swaps. i did a compression test and from left to right it was 200 180 180 180 shouldnt it be up around 240? im not real worried because the car has crazy power for n/a.

good to hear ya got it fixed. n yea, thats some pretty low compression for even a stock motor. let alone you making it high compression.
