Default gsr brake swap...front knuckle problem

I am doing a GSR brake swap on my 97 civic h/b, using brakes off a 2000 GSR I believe...the rear's fit fine, but the front's, I cannot get the axle to go in...axle fits fine in the old one, but it seems to have a differant # of teeth?!? thats what it feels like to me, I have a D series in my civic, a y7...and cannot get them in for the life of me

is there something I need to do? will it not work with my D?

nope, but that must be it, I thought I was doing something wrong, but I swapped knuckles again and my old ones, the axles just slipped in like nothing

I even tried cleaning it with wd-40 and a brush, to get any dirt out...and nothing...I've tried kicking it...hard, several times, it gets to where the 'tip' is barely pokign and refuses to go more, it has to be it

Wait, are you trying to fit the gsr knuckles onto the y7 axles? Or are you trying to fit gsr axles into a y7 tranny?

I thought you were talking about swapping out your old knuckles for the new gsr ones for the brake upgrade.......... if you are, then ^^^^^ this guy is a no talent *** clown.

PS: Gsr knuckles should fit d-series axles, never heard of anyone having a problem with that.

b series axles fit in your gsr rotors and don't fit into your single cam trans. So your gonna have to get a nice gsr swap to go with your new front brakes. sorry.

VERIFIED. Your axle may be nicked or stuck, but the Integra axle end and civic Axle end are the same. MEANING, if you put a Integra HUB on a civic knuckle, or both the integra hub/bearing/knuckle on a civic, the axle WILL fit. so.....force it?

Integra (minus itr) knuckle's hubs are the same as civics.
Check your integra hubs for damaged splines if your axle's splines are ok.

here's what I ended up doing
I examined them both and htey look identical, so I scrathced my head some more and tried to figure it out...well

I had a spare d axle hanging around, I ripped it apart and tried to get it to fit...it would go a bit, but not much...so I actaully had to hammer it inside the knuckle...and oddly enough it worked..hammered the fawk out of it...then hammered it out, did that a few times, it got stretched good enough for me to fit my big greased up axle inside

so maral of the story...sometimes, it's good to hammer the living **** out of ****
