GC's are alot smoother. I have had both. What kind of car do you have? Your prices are a little high.

i say get skunk2's. You can get custom rates and lengths if needed. I have had 6 different sets for 6 different cars. Never had a problem with them.

for your model car, the ltd ground control kit retails for $299.
And, the ground controls usually cost a little more because they outsource their springs to eibach.
eibach has been making springs for a long time and is heavy in the motorsport industry. most other coilover kit companies make their own springs...which would you rather have? also...if the rate of the g.c. street kit isn't to your liking, they are happy to change out the springs for something sportier, or to accomodate a motorswap.

I have Ground Control's and love them. They suit my needs very well, and by going with GC set-up I got to pick my own spring rates.

Re: ground control verses skunk2 (mafay2)
both my bf and i have the ground controls with the kyb agx's in our Si's. i've been through my suspension three times and i've finally found something i've been satisfied with. my customers have complained about skunk2 as well. i haven't had anyone say bad things about the ground controls, maybe just that the price is a little bit higher.

So where's a good place to get GC's online for a good price and with custom rates? Also, anyone know what are their rates for their "off-the-shelf" coil overs?

Re: ground control verses skunk2 (CoolKat)
if you order it from any authorized ground control dealer, you can request specific spring rates. my shop is an authorized dealer and we've done it plenty of times. the guys at ground control are really cool.

GC is not a waste of money at all! Buying real coilovers is, especially for the street. I use GC w/ 315lbfront and 400lbrear for autox. (gonna switch to 400/600) The problem with most all spring/shock combos is that the springs are progressive rate, not linear and you cant get custom spring rates.
I guess if you are not getting them for racing it doesnt matter about spring rates and progressive/linear.
