Grinding Sound
When I am going fairly slow, like 0-15 mph and I brake I can hear this weird grinding noise coming from the back of the car. Any faster and I can't hear it because of all the road noise. I'm pretty sure I need new brake pads, but is this sound the result of something worse? Is the sound the noise of my caliper grinding on my rotor because they is no pad left?

anything is possible it could be worn pads, it could also be warped rotor acting along with pad under light brake application, I mean we can all speculate, simply remove the wheel and inspect the pad, caliper and rotor for any unusual wear.
its your brakes and its yours and others safety.

You should take the rotors off too when you are changing the pads and have them turned. If metal is rubbing against metal you will have grooves for sure.
