Greatest Cheapest Upgrades
I thought it would be cool if everyone listed their favorite upgrade, that gained the most hp or torque, spending the least amount of money.
Actually, this can include suspension, braking, lighting, electronics, sound, body, anythning. The best bang for your buck, what was it?

Hmm.... thats a tough one.
My newiest fav. toy is my HKS Turbo Timer that i got for a bill. Its funny when people see me walk away and the cars still on the shuts off.
Best performance part that i got was DC 4-1 header for my GSR for 175.

Re: (Luserkid)
Without an argument from ANYONE nitrous is the best bang for the buck mod, followed my a turbo.
Intake 3-5 hp = 100 bucks
Nitrous kit 50+ hp = 500 bucks
Turbo kit 75+ hp= 2000 bucks
EDIT: I missed a 0 on the N20 setup the first time around..sorry guys!

Re: Greatest Cheapest Upgrades (Wildcatt88)
Well the Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulbs were nice. A bit brighter and much nicer looking than stock boring amberish color (Silverstars emit a nice bright white color). A nice home made cold air intake kit - prolly didn't add nothing more than maybe 2 hp, but it gives the engine a cooler intake charge and makes it sound like you gained about 12 hp, lol.
And although I've yet to put one on myself, people on here are always saying that a Type R rear swaybar is one of the best bang for the buck suspension mods you can do.

New plus size wheels (nothing ridiculous) and stickier tires, improves the car cosmetically as well as enhancing performance. While it may not be as cheap as a CAI, I felt the difference it made was much more noticeable (and you can get Rotas for rather cheap).

Re: Greatest Cheapest Upgrades (mycivicstoo(s)low)
How about removing your rear seats/jack+spare+tools/carpet? lol haha* I'm just messing.
The cheapest mod imo would be a generic intake--most of my friends started out with one, but not the "greatest".

Explain to me how this is an effective cheap mod? Maybe 10-15 hp for close to 1000 bucks...doesn't seem like it's very cost effective to me.

Yeah seriously, I mean I got a used greddy turbo kit for 900 bucks and I'm making WAY more power then that setup ever did for me.
As for cheap mods, when you're a broke college student like me, here's what you get:
-Ebay front and rear strut bars - $40 for both brand new (not that it matters)
-H&R sport springs w/tokico blue shocks - $400 new, rides better than stock
Here's a great way to spend $90:
1.) B&M Edge shifter w/ Energy Suspension poly bushings - $65 new
2.) GM synchromesh Friction Modified tranny fluid - $25 (2 qts)
-used greddy turbo kit - $900 complete (good up to 250whp with proper tuning and motor build)

Re: Greatest Cheapest Upgrades (Civiclx)
best bang for the buck, removing about 80 pounds worth of useless stuff from my interior. i haven't weighed my car yet, but without me, it should be about 2015 lbs, about 2275 with me in it. i did feel a noticable differance in all areas of performance. plus it was free. now i just gotta shed a few pounds!
