Is it bad to push your car to 125? Is it worse if you endanger other peoples' lives while doing it?

It shuts off?!?!?! Never heard of a gov. shutting a car off. Most Honda gov.'s kick in at 120mph.

Speedometers are pretty inaccurate, especially at high speeds. Tires begin to balloon also.

So, you're the only one who knows it, and thus it's empty? Endangaring only your life is Endangering others, cause you "know" the road... So, if you're on the road at 2am, is it impossible for anyone else to be on it?

I agree, YOu didn't ask anything about endagering life. I took mine last night to 135 or so...well i ran out of numbers to see, and the needle would be at 130 then drop down~shrugs~. I only agree with going that fast when it's plenty of open lanes late at night. Not during the day. go for it if you see an opening.

But 125, my civic pegged out at 120 with the old motor. So........it's not a bad thing it just shuts the fuel off, then starts back up. The reason they call it a govenor is becuase the government requires it to be in cars. These cars can run for forever untill they blow themselves up. Just like a fish. It will keep eating untill it dies.

I've redlined 5th in my car personally, but that was on the Autobahn in Germany. It's legal, and the drivers in Europe are far superior to those in the States. I admit, you can control yourself, and hopefully your car, but you can't control what others will do. Just be safe, at least you're doing it at night, I guess.

It's my car, it should be my avatar My statement about drivers here vs Europe is a generalization, there are exceptions to all rules. I'm one too.
