Default Got a Y8 for my 1995

Car information: 1995 Honda Civic EJ1 style. Automatic. Bad engine, good trans. Unknown miles.

Donor engine information (unconfirmed due to nature of purchade, bought mostly on faith of good faith representation of engine Year 2000, D16Y8. "Ran when it came out of the car" is all I know beyond that. Has alternator bolted on to it, bought as-is.

I made a video of looking at it, are there any tips or anything else I should check out before the install begins ? (*thinking of going with a local guy, doing it in a yard probably. To save money.)

Should put in I suppose Model Specific, and come back to it when the car is apart..

Watch "Compression Test attempt and look at my new Y8." on YouTube
https://youtu.be/14UC_vE0-MQ

Considered other forum, but, since this is a model-specific thing, I expect to actually make the move for the engine to be out of the car, in a not much longer period of time. This thread is intended for questions about how to make the 2000 engine work correctly in the 1995, and bolt up to 1995 trans; I will be ON THE SIDE in this one, since I've run into many qualified individuals (if not as enthusiastic as I am) at my work at Advance Auto Parts.

Happy Groundhog Day, and thank you for your help and information.

The car presently moves under its own power, for 5 minutes or so. So that accomplishes the goal I had set: To get it where it needs to go for engine transplant, UNDER ITS OWN POWER. Which, ultimately.. brings us to where we are.

WTF is your technical problem, or did you open this thread just to open a thread.

Welcome back, W95!

New helper monkey or the same 'ol fire-starter?

And here's an honorary roll of paper towels to welcome you back to Honda-Tech!

They did their best to be unwelcoming in GDD. This is a different type thread.

It seems you can't do a compression test by hand. Which let's me know that whoever did that on my 1995 Ford Escort in 2009.. had it wrong..

Thanks for the Welcome Back, guys.

What would be perhaps our biggest issue, getting the 2000 bolted up to the Trans and Z6 stuff in there?

Dear OP,

This is the TECHNICAL FORUM i.e. where people come for help. IIRC you were BANNED for doing the EXACT same thing a while back-repeatedly posting GDD topics in the tech forum. Here's the GDD forum

General Discussion and Debate - Honda-Tech

Go there to continue this topic or else ask the questions you came here to ask.

Locked.

W95, I'll let you know when and if I ever decide to allow you to create a thread in this forum. In the meantime, restrict yourself to GDD.
