Default Got my new header and exhaust....now what?

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just installed my DC 4-2-1 (ceramic) and my APEXi World Sport cat-back in my 2000 SiR yesterday. So far I love em both!!! But I have a couple of questions. When will that burning smell and the smoke from the exhaust go away? And next what's my next step besides a s/c or a turbo which will totally kill my warranty? I already have I/H/E. plugs, wires, lowering springs....
What's next???
Thanks!!!!

vafc, and a fuel pressure regulator....

or Cam gears, FPR, and a dyno tune

Vafc will help you get your a/f ratio closer to stoich

you need an FPR because buy getting I/H/E you are leaning out your mixture...so you need to up the fuel to match.

cam gears will help you time your intake and exhaust camshafts by delaying/ lengthening your valve timing

You could also try an ITR throttle body and a skunk 2 intake manifold. Give it about 2-3 weeks and the smell will go away.

For sure get an AEM fuel rail, pressure regulator, and fuel filter. I put these on my 93 Civic SI and gained on average of 20-35 miles extra per gas tank. My AEM time gear and pulley didn't do much, except make me remove my amp and stereo. It's not good to rum amplifiers off of race pulleys. If you do turbo, get the STR or Venom intake manifold. You'll feel a big differance. But also, if you go turbo.....do it right. Take your time and build the inside of your motor so it can handle more power. I'd wait awhile for turbo though. Otherwise your new headers and intake (if you have intake, I can't remember) are no good.

My guess is that your warrenty is already gone....although they have to prove that your mods caused the damage. It really depends on the dealer. Happy modding!

If you are still riding on stock tires, get some new ones. They will make a huge difference.

the smell should go away - it lasted a week or a week and a half when I put on my exh. I got factory optional 15s with Bridgeston RE730 205/50/R15s on my rims - slightly wider & lower profile than stock - the re730s made a dramtic difference from my stock Michelins

Hmmmm....I may have to do that cause my michelin's aren't very good on the corners, and they are really horrible in the rain!!! What was Honda thinking???
