Default Got a 99 civic si (Canadian) - what I should do?

Hi I'm still relatively new at forums so I don't know how to post pictures off my phone just yet.. But I currently drive a 96 civic coupe, d16y7 stock engine blah blah.. But I came across a 1999 black civic si(Canadian so it has the d16y8) but the body is in great shape near mint he was the original owner with 418,000 Kms on it . My questions are.. I would like to swap in a more powerful engine in the si eventually and build the car. Should I swap the y8 tranny and or head or anything else onto my d16y7? Or to much work for the little bit of gain? Any help is appreciated or advice

No nos for me.. And I like the look of stanced cars, but not worth it to me, the roads are crappy over here. Is a mini me a good idea considering the work involved and mileage on the y8 head? Tranny swap same thing? Pretty sure I will swap intake manifolds and exhaust either way

My goals/ plans would be a clean looking black si. Plans are swap in something new and clean up the bay and work with wheels and suspension.. Hadn't thought much about n/a or boost .. I'd be open to both , but 300hp ish would be nice .

I had not set anything in stone yet.. It will probably take awhile for it to come along, but first thing first drop the y8

For 300, you want an LS (cheap) or GSR (more expensive) motor, LS (cheap/crap), GSR (better), or ITR/CTR (best, $$$) transmission, and a turbo. You have to pay to play, and how much you get to play depends entirely on how much you're willing to spend.

Is it worth it to throw the y8 tranny and intake manifold onto a y7 for the bit of performance it might add?

Thanks for the 2 cents. At this point I'm not sure how much cash I will be throwing into the build anytime soon, but a gsr n/a sounds pretty good

if your motor is healthy keep it the way it is and invest in your suspension/wheels etc. why put in the y8 when you're gonna eventually take it out.

Ya know, if you bothered attempting to read and educate yourself, you would already have the answer to your question. Value ("is it worth it?" questions) are entirely up to you - different people value the dollar differently.

Here's a hint for you. I just posted about what you're asking yesterday.
