Someone hit my car and did some massive damage, so I think now would be a good time to paint my car a new color. Doing it now would save me money in the long run because they have to paint like half of a side of my car, so I was thinking about painting my hatch a gunmetal color, so could some of you maybe post up some pics of your cars painted gunmetal and maybe the color code and brand of the paint if you have it? Im sorry this isnt in cosmetics, but being a trial member I cant, Thanks everyone.

i dunno, ever since i was a lot younger i always wanted a metallic dark grayish colored car... and gunmetal is a perfect color for that description..

Repainting an entire car will cost a lot more than just repainting a side, for quality work. Especially a color change . . .

I'd suggest getting some quotes first, just so you have an idea of what you're getting into . . .

yeah, i know that, but my dads friend is a really good mechanic, and painter and all of that. I can get the side of my car fixed now and repainted white for 600 bucks, or i could just get all the dings, and the damage from this accident out, and paint it any color i want, for 1300, and I just have to buy the paint. Either way Im going to paint my car, its just the time that Im considering changing. I could do it all now, for a total of 1300, or paint it later and end up paying 1900. So thats what Im thinking.... sorry for not clarifying more in my first post.

If you can get the hook-up for $1300, and he does good quality work, then by all means go for it.

i was say gunmetal would look good.. so would a bronzish gold. think about what wheels you want / have to go with the color. i went white on white.. and i still love it.

ive got 2 quarts of gunmetal effect in chromabase bc. its a gm color. ive also got a gallon of chroma clear. i dont have the reducer or any of the things you need to cut it down, but i can give you numbers of what you need and mix ratios. i need to get rid of this paint since i am doin it a different color. im trying to get 250 for what ive got. let me know

yeah if you can get a quality paint job and body work, go for the darker colors. if you are forced to get a cheapy paint job/body work, i would say go for a white or silver color because it hides more.
