Default good deal or not ?

My friend is looking at a 96 civic dx and they got the dealer to go as low as $3000.
the car is in good shape he had me drive it for him because he cant drive a stick.
It ran real nice shifted smooth and it has a whole new air cleaner system/intake (factory)
a new distrubuter cap, rator, plug wires, battery, and new tires. just wanted to know if anyone thinks this is a good deal or is he geting taken.

Go run a carfax on it and have someone check the motor. Someone who knows what they are looking at.

Other then that, that's a good deal for a 96.

Yeah, not a bad price. Click on the ***Post Links to Helpful FAQs So We Can Get an Archive Going** thread near the top of the EG+ Civic / Del Sol section and then go to page 5 and scroll down to the last post. It contains lots of info on buying a used Civic.

I looked at the engine my self and i know a fare amount about them and it looked in good shape no leaking gaskets or any thing. I couldn't really do any compression checks or anything sense we are far away from the dealership. And the original owner was a teacher with 2 kids so i doubt the car was abused and i forget say it has 130k miles.

The dealer should be able to provide the carfax for free. If they don't want to then turn and run away, fast!!

If it's a clean title and doesn't look abused then it sounds like a good deal.
