Default Is this a good deal?

Alright my friend, he has a 92 hatch, and well, he works 2nd shift. While taking lunch break at work, he was driving and hit a deer with his car. It was quoted to be worth only $2700, but the damages were quoted at $3000. I looked at the car personally myself and all the damages were only the hood, and the front window. The driver's fender is pretty dented in, but the passenger fender is only bent a little on the lower corner where it connects to the bumper. He told me the insurance company would sell it back to him for $250, since they considered it totalled. He offered it to me for that much and asked if I wanted it. Everything is fine except a little rust on the back tire wells which is typical for a 92 and living in a snowy climate. I really want it for a project car. What do you guys think? If it's considered totalled, does that automatically make the title bad or would the title still be clean? Just wanted a heads up before I buy it cuz I really want it. It's a CX by the way no power anything. I haven't driven it myself yet but he says it still runs normal. Any suggestions? I estimated a Carbon Fiber replacement hood to be $400-500, and then fenders at $200 at the most. Window to be umm.. I guess $300-400. I'm still working on my EK so I'm gonna work on this EG slowly. So watdaya think? $250 + tow to my house.

Yeah and the thing is the engine is still intact and bumper isn't even cracked or torn. It's all stock by the way. I dunno if it's pushed in a little but doesn't seem like it. Maybe if so, just a tiny bit but not very noticable. Do you think that the frame in the front is jacked up? Cuz the hood is about a 1/2" to an 1" off from the headlights. Anyone know? Or could it be just that the hood's tremendous dents caused it to fold away a little. The deer's body did bounce right on top of the hood and then roll off.

My dad was going to do this with our old car. Found out that he would have to have it inspected to make sure it's safe for the road. Said it was too much trouble and said f**k it. This was years ago, but I would check with DMV and see what all needs to be done to get a salvaged car back on the street legally

and if i was him (having an EK and all) i wouldn't worry about putting the EG back on the streets. i mean its a 250 dollar car, strip that **** and make it a race car. you wont get **** for a salvaged title car when you go to sell it, so it might as well be a full blown race car. bare metal interior, cage, C5, no cat, oh yeah baby.
