Default going for my goal....13.xx all motor b16a

well right now i have a jdm b16a in my civic hatchback - my ultimate goal is to run a 13.xx with stock internals and a stock head - basically all bolt-ons right now i am at a 14.84@91.37 that is how i drive everyday i pulled a 2.25 60ft also - you might how i will do this - well i already have all the bolt ons put igntion and some pulley- ignition i may get but i wont get pulleys - you may ask how i am going to do this? -well as or right now you all may know that the JDM b16a motor is OBD0 right, well my car was wired up to keep the OBD2 integra P72 ecu, i personally think this is f*in me up very badly - slowing me down a **** load - so i have a jun chipped p28 sitting in my room - i am waiting on a harness from blown90hatch - which i will be sending out the money for 2mar0 when i get this ecu in i hope to be around a 14.4 14.3 - maybe even a 14.2 - i hope to hit the 13.xx goal with some slicks - i think it can be done - what do you guys think? - am i shootin for tood good of a time with that ECU, should i even expect a gain with the ECU? i hope i will gain something from it...what do you guys think?

any input welcome
Matt

List your bolt-ons.
Have you done weight reduction at all?
Tires?
What wheels?

NSXmatt on this board has a full interior hatch with 2nd gen b16a and runs 14.2 on street tires and few bolt-ons.

I would recommend CTR cams and upgrade intake/tb/manifold... Your goal is very realistic. Your car should be obd1. The p28 ecu is auto right, so your getting that chipped?

I sure as hell hope you would hit a 13.xx with all of that.

I run a 14.52 on slicks and all I have is 4-2-1 dc headers,B&M FPR set at 40, aem short ram, stage 2 CM clutch and straight piped hayame exhaust.

And that run was with full interior, 1/4 tank of 93 octane gas, and my 175 pound ***.

If you can't beat me, then there is SOMETHING wrong with this picture.

By the way, I drive a 96 DX Coupe with a USDM 00' Si B16A2

Instead of getting a whole new wiring harness why wouldn't you just get a jumper, like the one skunk 2 makes?

i dont think spark plugs will play that big a of role. alot of very fast cars run stock ignition with copper plugs

your VTEC x over point from the P72 is hurting u. id say the biggest thing thats hurting u is cams. u might have a set of auto B16 cams which r crap. get some CTR cams and tune it and i think u could run better. u have spent a ton of money on crap u dont need and will do very little. ur trap speed is no where near close to 13.XX

i dont think i have a set oof auto b16a cams - they pull all the way to redline - i have been on a dyno to prove they do - dont auto b16a cams only pull to 5500 then drop off or something? - yea i was thinkin

CTR intake
ITR exhaust cam

i know it is no where near a 13.xx my trap speed, but my ecu is ****** me up - i just ordered a jumper harness from blown90hatch on this board - i sent him the money on wed i think...or tues - i'm not sure sometime... but i sent the money off to him so hopefulyy by next week i will have my ecu in there - weight reduction - my car weights 2460 with me in it no spair tire, no rear seat. that about all - basically nothin in the hatch part but the rear panels...

i am putting in a jun chipped p28

Are you planning to buy slicks? I think you might be able to do it.

Yeah slicks, more weight reduction, and lots and lots of practice to get used to launching a Tq less B16. They are real picky to get a fast time. Check the sig, I,H,E

Uhmm. No.

That's one of the dumbest "tech" posts I've seen here.

Plugs are plugs, wires are wires. Unless he has some major work done to his car, there is not much of a need for aftermarket wires/plugs/or ignition. Spend your money elsewhere.

it sounds very possible with the set up you have. with some practice launches and the new ECU you shold be close or at your goal.

and no the plugs don't matter...

Slicks, 900 lbs springs in rear, and some weight reduction

BAM! 13.9 easy.

im still not diggin the P28 with different program. a program like JUN needs more mods, more compression and cams, which u have none of the above. even on slicks i dont think ur rollin 13s. i could b wrong but u need more than u have.

i can tell ya a couple things. forget the dyno tuning and do 1 if not all the following things. 1. learn to drive 2. get stickier tires. u need 1 or both of the mentioned cause u got great MPH (not 12 second MPH) but definitely enough for mid 13s. its obvious ur 60 fts suck and as a result ur 1/8th sucks. a few yrs ago i ran a best of 9.1 1/8th at 75MPH and that was good for mid 14s in my 2500lb coupe.

1. i can drive
2. i need slicks
3. i spin 4 gears and sometimes 5th. (act stage 5 clutch grabs like a bitch) and spinning gives a higher speed but a lower et

thanks for your thoughts though. oh and this is in an eg coupe
