Default Goal 12's:: LSD Needed?::

As most of you are also doing, I am attempting to build a fast car for fairly cheap. I know the benefits of a LSD are huge, but can you successfully make it down countless quarter-mile runs and twisties (ricer term i know..) without really having the car pull me?!
I plan on a b18c1 hybrid EG Hatch-Turbo (eventually..). So can i save a few dollars for now and use it towards something else? I'm gathering info before i buy a swap. I will collect parts that will save MUCHO time when the engine is out (clutch/flywheel/LSD). Just want to hear HT's view on my situation. Thanks!

i would answer your question but i can't quite do so at the moment as i just installed a B18C1 tranny with Quaife LSD in my turbo'd LS/civic. I've heard people say that it doesn't do too much to 1/4mile times or ETs, but it really helps on the turns if you plan on autocrossing. I can tell you that i feel the difference going on and off clovers on the highway. but that's about it...i'll be taking my car to the tracks this saturday and if this post is still up, i'll post my time slip..etc,etc.
