Don't forget to check that the seals surrounding the roof and doors are in good shape. It seems like a small retarded thing but they will set you back $400 bucks if they are full of holes and leaking on your interior and seats.

Ill do some more digging. But yes any Vtec motor can be placed in a delsol. Civic, integra, crx, etc.. All these cars can have the Vtec motors.

I know that. But the D16z6 is SOHC. To me if your doin all motor go DOHC, even with forced induction is the way to go on those. B16 dont caust much, even though a D16z6 is cheaper, but it has alot less horsepower.

Re: Getting Started
The D16Z6 is the motor that comes in a stock 1993 Del Sol Si. It was the original high performance motor for the Del Sol. However, it only puts out 125hp. So it isn't going to blow the doors off of anything but a lawnmower. What is nice about it though is that it handles boost very well and can support 200hp in stock form. Sometimes it is cheaper to turbo a stock D16Z6 than it is to buy and install an engine swap. Plus the D16Z6 is cheap to buy since they used it for almost all Civics from 1993-1995. LOTS and LOTS of available motors.

True bout the turboing the D16. But personally I thinki it be better to invest in a DOHC motor then turbo that, in the long run Id be more satisfied.

2nd... del sols are a moderately heavy chassis... and you'll never have torque with a honda. even boosted... **** could be hella faster in another car
3rd.. headflow... its all we have on our side other that weight. or you can boost. anything above atmospheric pressure will make happy things happen when you hit the loud pedal.
4th... keep it below 17" wheels. thats a given
5th.. our cars handle... very well... only improvements can be made
6th... everything interchanges in a honda. any motor, any chassis... its been done and you can do it to. have fun
7th... we really do get awesome gas mileage... from my 210 all motor to my 437hp turbo.. ***** nice
8th the stock motors suck.. see headflow. f motors > k motors > b motors > d motors... and h motors are just runts.. they are just funky. but they are the honda big block.
i'd be glad to answer any questions thru PM

Re: Getting Started
honestly, its not that difficult. honda's are so incredibly easy. they're pretty much the sbc 350 as far as interchangability and ease of building.
I've dipped my hands in all kinds of cars from audi's to bagged trucks. honda's are the easiest engine-wise. and fairly decent on your pocket too.
the best piece of advice i can give you is READ alot. here are some books that i keep as reference material. great information.
http://www.amazon.com/Sport-Compact-.../dp/1884089526
http://www.amazon.com/Performance-Ho...2919431&sr=1-2
you can find them at like borders, barnes and noble, walden books... they've all got'em
GOOD LUCK AND WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF ECONOMICAL POWER! lol
