Getting sick of sucking water outta my hatch...
I think the door seal on my hatch door is not doing its job, as I have to use the shop vac to suck about an inch of water outta the back of my car every time it rains/snows. I cant seem to find the exact spot where the water is getting passed the seal. My question is: Do I have to buy the specific seal for the hatch door, or can I use a roll of the door seal you can get at any parts store? Would you recommend I do this myself? Its a 98 hatch by the way.

well what you can do is have you or one of your buddys sit in the hatch while you hit the back with a wate hose and see exacly where it's coming from. you might also want to check the tail lights to most hatch back light s do let water in I have seen. I would also recomend get a factory rubber peice for one you know it will fit write, and plus it from the dealer you can do the job yourself shouoldnt be to hard buut if you feal you have the money take it to a dealer.

you may end up taking the whole interior out for the water hose idea...... I did a Heater Core on a Dodge Dakota Customer brought it back 3 MONTHS LATER!!!! says its leaking again, Pressure test shows no leaks.... Park it outside on a rainy day its full of water.... No Coolant in the water..... Looked for almost 40 mins before taking the interior apart finally found the Highmount Brake like was leaking around the seal.
