Getting shocked by my car..
Whenever I get out of my car, or my friends get out, we get a shock. It's not like a wussy static one, its a pretty strong one. Is this caused by wiring problems, or can other things cause it?

I doubt its wiring problems. Its just static electricity. |

i duno, is it strong enough to make you shit your pants?
|
i get the same thing....never asked any of my passengers if they got shocked...i thought it was just the rubbing of my feet on the carpet while shifting that built up the static...but idk...I wouldn't think that it would be a wireing thing.

Re: (Cypher0117)
yeh with all that cloth interior, your bound to get shocked. especially in dry weather, when it gets humid it will happen less often.
|
When you open the door, before you actually go to step out, try reaching up and grab or thouch the body of the car as you slide out. That should keep you from getting that static shock. I get it all the time depending on what im wearing. My jacket with a fleece inside doest it the worse.

i heard it could be caused from not having the car grounded correctly/having a bad ground
this have any truth to it? |
Re: (notguilty411)
not in the least,
Its from when you slide out you build up static, I get it all the time when I slide out of my sol. Grab the frame when you get out somewhere and that should help you... |
Static electricity. Only way to discharge is to ground yourself. So, touch your door or roof.

I heard it could be in any one of these "recient threads" in seach for shock
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199991 https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1194962 https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1212529 Its nothing major... just static.. when dry weather is gone, it will probably leave too... or you could static guard your seats and carpet |
