Default getting ready for the track

what do you do when getting ready to go run down the 1320?any tips or tricks or anything like that? what do you do for weight reduction?
who jets it up, or turns up the boost?
what kind of timing do most of you run?
what tires, at what psi?
any thing else you can think of?

I burnout until I have no tread left and do the 1320 on my rims. I cant wait for the track to open back up. Hopefully my Si will be done by then.

just remember if you are going to run with street tires pull some psi out of them before you run it will help out a lot. Run around 28psi

take all unneeded **** outta the car. spare as well. i would maybe advance ur timing a degree but its not to important. let some air outta ur tires so u dont hop. try down to 25psi. ummmm what else. yea people usually turn up the boost but only if ur car can handle it. what r u runnin now??

remove as much weight from your car as possible; also, take a **** and empty your pockets before you get in. i hear if you turn your heater on, and put a bag of ice on your intake manifold it helps a tiny bit.

you can do all kinds of crap like that, but you'll still put up a lousy time if you don't relax. just try to be calm and think that nobody is watching.

Excellent point, I always get a little shakey, and either bog or spin off the line on the first run cuz I'm nervous.

I can never seem to convince myself that it's nothing to get worked up over...

Bottomline, know your car and just know that if you are using street tires, you'll be burning out a lot because of the lower traction on the track...

What else... Relax... learn how to launch it with the christmas tree... learn how to do a proper burn out if you are planning to do it--if you are just using street tire, there is really no need to use the wet box...

I dunno... just be yourself, take a deep breath, and maybe well see a 16.00sec

J/K! Im messing... you just need to relax and have some faith in your ability... You'll be fine. Just know your car and your own abilities and limits (i.e. rev limit or boost or nitrous jet, whatever you are happening to use....)

Oh yea, I second on lowering the psi of your tires... Saw guy run like a crappy mid 15's to 16's on his 90dx with a stock B16... Talked to him a bit and told him to lower his psi from "FUCKEN" 45psi to 28 or even 25psi... fool hit a 14.3sec on street tires--made his night... so tire psi matter more than u think

my long $0.02 break essay

It does. On the track as well as on the road, its ALL about traction. You could be making 900whp and still hit only a 14 seconds if you got some cheap tires. Thats why most people trying to hit 12's or below have slicks... they grip extremely well and give you awesome 0-60'

I wait in the staging lanes, roll my windows down cause it's hotter then **** inside my car, try to line up with a big bad V8, get to the front of the line, put my helmet on, windows up, pull into the burn out box spin the tires, move ahead and do my burn out, (by this time I'm focused and pumped) trip the first light, wait for the other guy to stage on the first light. Stage the second light, get the revs up, watch the tree and on the last yellow DROP THE BITCH AND GO.......and at the end of the run, give the loser a wave for a good run and to pass me, yell something like WOOO, YA **** YA, YOU LIKE THAT ****..... (to myself inside the car just because of the rush)... I love racing at the track so much.....On that note I hate ******* winter.... I needed this thread though thxs......

There is no shame in a 13 sec pass.. Just know that you'll spank some of those domestics, i.e. a 5.0L mustang with shitty *** gas mileage... hah Now just dark tint ur car so he thinks you have the back seats there... hah
