can any one tell me if civic gearboxes fit any model .what i mean is could i fit a1.8 box to a 1.6 engine. my box is shot and i know where i can lay my hands on a vti box from a breaker just wonder'd if this would work

yes the bolt on just right.....have a dx motor with a 1.6 ex tranny

B series = B series trans

D series = D series trans

You need to get either a hydro or a cable depending on what your car has now.

omgoodness, great britain lol. yes the vti is a b16 and a 1.8 liter tranny aka gearbox will fit right onto it no problem and vice versa. hope that helped

sorry to go on i'm new at this and( also perhaps a little slow) so in simple terms my civic is just a mere 96 5 door 1.6sr (sohc) which ive been told is a d series and the 96- on (dohc) 1.6 or 1.8 is a b series is this right will either one of these boxes fit to my engine .

oh i thought you had a vti, no the dohc transmission will NOT fit, only sohc trannys fit
