Gauge Cluster problems, need help please.
I have a 92 Hatchback, stock engine, non Vtec. Stock car haha
My gauge cluster is a little wack, or the wiring in my dash is, from some owner before.
The problem: First off, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, Speedo doesnt work, just sometimes like on its own or when i smack the dash, also, at night the lights dont light up all the time, same problem, they work when they want. With the lights it also is with the climate control lights. Tacho works fine and so does my miles gauge. Gas gauge is iffy, saying it doesnt stay where it is, goes up and down. but it gives a good enough estimate haha.
I took out my cluster to check connections and everything looked fine. Please help me.

Speedo:
Does the CEL work?
Cluster/climate control lights:
Pry the dimmer switch out of the dash, unplug the connector, and then use a short piece of wire to jump/short the red wire to the black wire in the connector. Do the dash lights now work?

could just be ur circuit board on the speedo thats bad.. i had a bad speedo so i took off a good working circuit board n attach to my speedo and it started to work fine again.. i couldve switch the whole cluster but i wanted my original mileage on my car..same goes for my rpm too.. my old stops at around 5-6k switch the circuit board n goes to 9 accoring to my chip ecu

u can find it on any cluster u just have to pop it open.. but make sure its a full working one.. try to find a bad cluster (rpm not working) and use the speedo from there

Given that the climate control lights also don't work (see first post), a bad cluster circuit board seems quite unlikely.
