GaUgE ClUdTrR!!!!
hello,
ok well i have a 94 civic dx. which does not have a tach. i just ordered an EX gauge cluster from ebay so basically i was wondering if i can just take my old dx cluster out and put the new ex cluster in and just be able to plug it all in and the tach will work.
i have heard that every civic comes with the tach wire all ready and all you have to do is plug it in. i have also heard that the non-tach civics do not come with this wire and you have to install it your self.
which one is true?
thanks

Yer not stupid, you just don't know the term.
Yes, Plug and play means....plug it in and it works, no changes needed from you.

remember theres a stupid screw behind the hazard button. just take the button off then you will be able to pull of the plastic around it. there will be a screw in there and 2 more under the topside of the plastic near the guages. be carefull of the plastic clips. gl

np, if you come across an extra one of those plastic trims let me know
DISCONNECT your negative battery cable too, i dont do it for stereo stuff and a few other things, but you will have to mess with your srs plug so make sure you do.

haha, I broke one of the bottom clips on mine too.
Now I have a little gap right below the tach/speedo between the trim and the dash...and GOSH it's annoying.
Gonna use some 3M double sided tape
edit- Also, before you fasten the cluster back in, plug it in, turn on your lights, and make sure EVERHTING works. At this point, you can swap out bulbs from your old cluster as needed, rather than taking everything back out again. Another mistake I made...lol
