Default gas guage question

alright so i have a 98 coupe and my gas guage is very innaccurate, for instance, when i am in first gear and start going not even flooring it the gas guage rapidly starts going down and does so thru second gear. when i get up to 5th gear its not so much of a problem because the guage goes back up. also around uturn's the guage goes way down too its not really a huge problem but i just figured i would throw it up here to get some possible input.

There's a large plastic baffle located inside your tank that is supposed to stop the sloshing. If it's broken or removed you get the wacky gas gauge thing.

my gas gauge is being a little dinga ling as well. but dont sweat it. it dont hurt... i mean sure, its unaccurate and you cant get the RIGHT reading, but if you let your car sit, the needle will go back to where ever the gas is. it only happens when driving cause the gas sloshes and such. if you're really annoyed by this, then go ahead and try to get it fix or something. i personally dont think you really have to. but thats just me. i've gotten used to my gas gauge being retarded by now.
