Default fuel gauge advice.

In my wife's civic the fuel gauge will rise as you drive it on long trips. Normal short trips do not effect it.

Today we drove 80 miles, started with a half of a tank. when we arrived at our destination the gauge said over full tank. It will stay at a full tank until car cools down, then it will return to normal. Same thing happened on the trip home.

I assume this is a sending unit problem. But could this be another issue such as a fuel pressure problem?
