i noticed someone else talking about it in another topic, but i was wondering if i were to buy front fenders, hood, bumper and grille, for say a 99 civic, would they just bolt on or would i need to modify something or buy other parts to make them fit. thanks in advance

yes you will need to weld the radiator support on, but everything else should bolt, also fenders might need to be cut, my friend had to cut his on his eg hatch, and the front of an eg coupe is the same as the hatch.

so you guys are thinking that i would need to mod the fenders (cut them and make them smaller). and weld a new radiator support? or weld onto my existing radiator support

my friend had to take his old radiator support off and weld on the 99 support on. and yeah your going to need to cut the fenders, make them shorter anyways.

if you want something that a 99-00 front end will just bolt on to you need a 96-00 civic. but even then you will need to make some minor adjustments to the 96-98 radiator support.

To put this front end on, you're going to need to collect the following from a '99-'00 Civic coupe, hatch or sedan:
- bumper
- headlights
- hood
- fenders
- grille
- core support

You're going to get rid of your entire stock front end EXCEPT for the fenders. You'll need to cut them in half and save the back half of it.

Then you'll do the same to the '99-'00 fenders, only you'll have to save the front half of the '99-'00 fenders.

It probably won't all bolt on perfectly and it will require quite a bit of measuring and figuring out where the right place to cut will be. You'll have to weld the fenders together and smooth out the seem.

Sort of like this (this is a '96-'98 front on a del Sol, but you get the idea).

Here's some conversions on 5th gen Civics.

see i like the look of a 99-00 civic, but that seems like alot of work, especially because im not the master mechanic/ welder or even craftsman.

Then get a 99-00 civic. Conversions look ghetto, even if done right (which is rare)...it's always going to look like a 99-00 civic in the front, and a 92-95 in the back. In other words: not normal.

BTW: NOFX, thats quite the collection of conversions you've got there.

I save so many photos. I save most photos of conversions for threads like this.

Agreed. I'd rather see the stock front on any of them.

sry for double posting..
the del sol front end on the hatch looks sweet
look good on a four door maybe...
i still like the 96-00 front end
especially on a slammed sedan. that **** would look pimp.

The JDM ITR front on that 96-00 coupe is actually not bad... still not as good as stock, but the least offensive of the group.

Hey everybody lets all jump on the honda tech bandwagon and say that anything but stock or jdm sucks. God forbid someone would want to do something unique with their car. I think most of the conversions look great seeing as the stock eg front end looks awful and very cheap. Ilove my eg\ek half breed and I get great comments on it every day.

So what if I don't like how these cars or your car looks. Seriously. So what.

It's going to happen.
