those are probably the same thieves that stole my friend's 92 civic coupe from Cal State Fullerton. It was a partial strip- all they took where his rims, bodykit, airbag suspension (I know), cold air intake, and misc interior parts.

Also the car has lojac which was activated. The guys who jacked didnt have the car in their pocession more than a few hours, and got rid of it before the lojac located it.
As for the painted dash........ Hey like I said some people have there own style. My buddy bought the car as you see it. He hates the interior, and was in the process of putting it back to stock. It's going to get a fresh paint job of the original color red, and a nice interior.

my guess would be they got the car thinking that it still had the motor in it, yeah who wouldnt want a decent high 13's motor, styles change and this cars interior was in the process of being changed, just look at nwp4life's ride 
Cars are being jacked at a really high rate right now, i was at the impound lot and there were like 3 si's stripped, a few eg's and some dc's. that remote paging alarm is looking real good right now. peace
