Default Frankenstein motor

I'm new on the Honda scene and I've been hearing alot about the Frankenstein motor, an LS block with a B16 VTEC head and intake. I heard that it makes more horsepower than the GS-R's 170. Can anyone give me a run down as to how it makes the extra horsepower and exactly how much horepower it makes. I know the LS makes 140-142 and the B16 VTEC makes 160. I was also wondering about the transmission, is there anyway to make a cable tranny hydraulic Thanks

its called LS/VTEC usually, and it makes more power because the LS block has a longer stroke than the GSR block
