Found out my idling problem myself
I knew it wasnt a vaccum leak or anything else. and the headshield has always had a dent in it and under the headshield when u rev the engine u could hear a knocking noise and alot of exhaust smell. well after trying to get help and everyone saying its bad spark plugs or vaccum leaks i decided to go with what i thought and here ya go.
now i need to know where to buy a stock header for my car for cheap. any website that sells them new or can u only get them used? and if so anyone selling some locally (fresno)

I would have to look into it more and go into detail.
It might not be back pressure though, maybe the 02 was getting a weird reading

the O2 would make more sence because in no way can i picture backpressure alone beeing the cause

i really wanted to fix the problem when it started dropping to like 100-200rpm and 2times it actually died on me when i was rolling 2 a stop light in neutral. Other than that when i start the car it idles at 1,500rpm. once i start driving and if i stay in first gear and come to a stop it stays around 1,200-1500 rpm but when i go on the street and im in 3rd or 4th gear and then when im coming to a stop. thats when it drops. then it rises back up 2 about 1,000rpm after a min sitting at the light with the emergency brake on and not pushing the brake or clutch
btw the crack is all the way threw

Re: (central_driver)
Not to be a dick but, why are you still complaining if you seemed to find what's wrong cracked header, unlikely though. Just go to the junk yard or pay for the shipping and one of these guys will give you a header.

sorry buddy you didnt figure out your idle problem you just found another one, cracked manifold wont affect the idle, maybe a little a/f ratio change but not enough to cause that much of a problem.

im sure thats the problem. ill get some new headers and tell you if it keeps up but im sure if u have that big of a crack in your headers that will cause the acceleration and idling to be a bit off
