Floor Mats for '99 Civic Coupe?
Hey everyone, my sister texted me the other day looking for a set of floor mats for her '99 Civic coupe, gray interior. I looked around online and I'm not sure what's the best set to go with. She's trying to spend as little money as possible, she's not a car enthusiast. Is anything on eBay worth buying (besides OEM)? There's a big difference in price between OEM floor mats and and no-name stuff on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Full-Set-4-pcs-Carpet-Floor-Mats-Gray-/251043808717?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &fits=Year%3A1999|Model%3ACivic&hash=item3a736085c d&vxp=mtr $20 shipped (generic though)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-1996-2000-CIVIC-BLK-FLOOR-MAT-CARPETS-W-RED-TRIM-/290601077119?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &fits=Year%3A1999|Model%3ACivic&hash=item43a92c897 f&vxp=mtr $36 shipped
versus
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-2000-Honda-Civic-Floor-Mats-Black-Oem-4DR-/270964555805?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &fits=Year%3A1999|Model%3ACivic&hash=item3f16bf001 d&vxp=mtr $72 shipped for OEM
Any personal experience with non-OEM floor mats?

Non Oem typically have thin cheap rubber on the bottom and thinner carpet which wears esp by the heal area.
Generic never seem to fit right and move around.
The oem one you posted are the best and 72 bucks shipped is cheap.

its worth paying a little bit moore knowing its going to last a really long time rather than buying something for cheap and having it start to fall apart after a little use

I understand your sister isnt a car enthusiast but the cheap ones tend to slide around all over the floor and it can get in the way of the gas or brake pedal. I would highly recommend OE at this stage.

Re: Floor Mats for '99 Civic Coupe?
I recommend OEM as well.
FWIW, do not go with WeatherTech. I have a set in my Hatch right now and the driver's side mat keeps on sliding all over the place and being picked up by my clutch pedal when I shift. I've been battling with this for almost a year.
Their customer service limited themselves to send me a couple of anchors (which didn't work) and velcro straps (which didn't stick to my floorboard carpet). They refuse to replace them or money back, they say I must go through the auto parts store I got them from. So much for standing behind their product.
It's too bad, because I like all weather type mats (rubber).

I made this mistake after someone gushing their praises about these mats on this forum.
It is a "universal" (code word in the auto. industry for "shitty fit") mat which only approximates the contour of foot well and the anchor point is on the wrong side. You have to cut the rear seat mats to fit properly.
And yes, they get stuck under/on top of the pedals, to include the accelerator. They must be the OEM for Toyota mats.

Re: Floor Mats for '99 Civic Coupe?
I'm just going to recommend OEM floor mats, whether it's off eBay or from the junkyard. If it was my car, it wouldn't even be a question (I've owned eBay floor mats before and wasn't impressed), but like I said, it's my sister.

bringing it up from the dead. . .
the ones available for our civic 96-00 are the all weather floor mat which apparently are universal fit.
the ones we want/need are floor liner digital fit which is not available,
theres a link there that we can request for a product, maybe if we can get enough product requests maybe they will make one,
i have the floor liner digital fit on my rav4 and on my mom's corolla and they fit really nice,
i would definitely buy them if it were avail for our ek
just my 2 cents
