Flat rear hatch???

Default Flat rear hatch???

I've seen some pics a while back of some people putting a carpet piece of wood or so it looked in the rear hatch of the 5g hatches to make it flat so to mount a nitrious bottle or just have storage under neath........

ANyone got pics that that or a how to?? or how I can go about doing this???

Just make a pattern out of cardboard.

You should see the little dips for the factory cargo cover to snap to. Just trace the pattern on some 1/2 or 3/4 plywood and cut away.

Reinforce the board underneath where you want to mount your bottle (or whatever) and link these into the little dips on the interior pieces. Should snap into place.

so bascilly I'm just tracing the stock carbord cover??

I've seen where the entire rear up to the rear seats is flush and looks like it's stock that way........know what I mean??

just make a pattern of the whole rear hatch and cut the plywood out, then cover the plywood with some carpet.

Plywood weighs a grip, I would'nt use that ...use lexan or some other kind of acrilic, atleast 1/4" thick.

oh YEAH i KNOW...

I was thinkin more like the board they use for the back of cabinets....really light.....based off of plywood like 4 layers but its like 1/4 thick.....so that with carpet should be fine!!

Particle board weighs more than wood. Either way, you're better off with plasitc
