im sure ur not gona be "splitting" anywhere with a z6 unless its turbo BUTT the redline on the d16z6 is 7200.. and the redline is the place that you DONT want to be unless you have a built head.. if you overrev you can blow your motor

Redline = 7200

Car won't make power past 6800 - shift there - Well actually shift at 7100-7200 assuming you have a stock tach - because the honda OEM tachs read high as ****. If you have an aftermarket (good) tach - shift at where it says 6800.

509 posts and you don't know what redline is? alrighty then...

my stock tach reads low as hell... i have an aftermarket tach that i don't keep in the car cause it looks ricey but i use it to adjust my idle and my stock tach is reading ~500 whereas the idle is 800

Being a base model owner it doesn't take long to figure out that redline = power stoppage.

Where your car doesn't make power anymore, ******* shift.

6800 is where you should shift, after that you're just spinning your engine and slowing down.

all this info is correct but not.
Rev it out as high as you can before shifting.
though the engine makes no more power after a point.
when you shift your landpoint will be higher thus the next gear will be quicker.
come on now.
wind that motor out, is a dog, but it will do the trick.
