filling tranny up?
well i finished another swap in my car and i usually fill the tranny up with oil through the side with this special oil pump untill oil starts to drip back ou but now i dont have that tool right now and remember that i can fill the tranny up through the VSS hole. now i am going to do this but i dont know how much is too much when filling through that hole, i dont want to over fill it has anyone done this before and can tell me how i know when i have enough fluid in the tranny?

it helps if you say what engine/tranny you have....
my D16Z6 takes 2 quarts....B18C5 tranny takes like 3.5 I believe

Re: filling tranny up? (Kamin)
i have a b16 with my old type r lsd tranny S80. i leaked tranny oil from where my axles were because i had top replace the axle seals and i dont think its completely empty i just want to fill it back up throgh the VSS. is there too much oil in the tranny if i top it off through the vss, u know like if theres oil coming out of the vss hole ? or is that too much?

yup . that's how i did it. after it started coming out of the side hole i poured about another 1/4 quart because you have to compensate for the tranny being tilted (since it's jacked up).
