Default FD2 Type R swap into EG <-- LOOK HERE

Hey guys so I was at my local JDM importer and out of no where these guys had a 2008 Honda Civic Type R halfclip. So I would like to buy the swap out of the can since it has 5700 km and looks brand new.

But here is the delima, I dont know if it will take anything special to run the engine in the car ? I think some mods are needed in order of the transmission to fit corectly?

Also the car is Drive-By-Wire so I would need another throttle body and adapter.

After a little bit of reseach I also found out that the final drive is 5.06 on the tranny would that be almost too high for highway driving @ 60mph on 15'' wheels ?

If anyone knows what I should mod in oder to make it fit in my EG please help me out !

If this is posted in the wrong place, feel free to move it in the right sub-section!

pics for reference :

Buy first ask questions later lol
No seriously though you can probably even get a local shop to sponsor you for the swap.
Maybe 50/50 on the labor so they can be one of the FIRST to do the fd2 swap.
Or you know some sort of deal, they get publicity, you get fd2 , and i get your old eg parts. Win/win/win

my suggestion, sign up on k20a.org and make a post there.. have fun getting your mounts, harness, shifter box, and all those other fun things.

some companies to check out would be hybrid racing, karcepts, hasport.. they make various k swap items you'll need.

u can just mount this motor up with the reg. egk1 mounts they sell.hasport, hybrid racing, and karcepts have nice mounts for k into eg. you would have to get rid of the existing tranny mount to replace with the new k mounts. along with rbc tb adapter kpro shifter mounting plate etc. etc....and cant forget the kswap conversion harness. man i can go on forever with things u need for this swap to be done proper. just visit those websites mentioned n u will be able to source all ur k swap parts.

I am aware of the various parts that are comon for the basic K-series swap. But I was wondering because it looks like it is made like the k20z3 so I was wondering if the shifting mecanism on top of the tranny would cause issues with the shifter box and cables ?

thanks for the help this far

wow you've got a long ways to go in getting a k in that car if you're askin those kinda questions lol no offense. like geneeunit said...for starters, go to k20a.org and read up on the stickies. second, go to hybrid-racing.com and buy their k-swap installation dvd. that'll be MOST of the info you'll need on doin a k swap. -Jeff

I agree. If you've never swapped a motor in a Civic, a k swap shouldn't be your first lol.

i disagree, i really don't see how a k swap is any harder than a b swap.. its just a little more work.. nothing crazy. k swaps are common now, they're not a big deal anymore..

I already know all the parts i need and how to swap it. This is not the question I am asking here. I already have the fuel rail, lines, radiators and hoses, swap header etc...

I know that I will need a 04-06 RSX harness along with the throttle body and a Kpro.

The only issue I am looking at right now is about the transmission shifting mecanism. On top of the tranny were the shifter cables bolt up. I dont know if they are the same pattern as the Z3 transmission were I would need to put a 04-06 mecanisme and cables in order to make it shift perfect.
